A friend bought this book and tried to pawn it off on me when she was completely unimpressed. I passed. When, some time back, I watched a YouTube video she posted on watermelon juice, I was astonished. She talked about how people asked her how she got her watermelon juice "so pink" and she went through multiple steps on how to juice watermelon. Really? I mean, really? I throw watermelon chunks in my juicer, it comes out great, and guess what.....super pink! Thanks for complicating something so simplistic with your strainer and your whole process. Most people want simple and easy, not ways to make things very straightforward more complicated. Yikes! Glad I watched it. I might never have known how to make watermelon juice. Oy vey. Proof positive, everyone has a "diet" or recipe book nowadays regardless of value and validity. *Read some of the reviews. Seems more than one person suggests she solicits positive ratings. #unethical

So many times we try to heal ourselves through other means without ever taking a deep look at what we consume on a daily basis. I for one was so naive to believe that my diet could never be responsible for my sickness. I am 27 years old and in March, I will have been diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis for 13 years now. In December 2014, I hit the lowest point of my health when I had to undergo emergency dialysis and prepare for a kidney transplant, all while doing chemotherapy in the mean time. I was sick and tired of it all: all the drugs (10-15 pills a day), all the chemotherapy (four times a month), and all the doctor's visits and hospital stays. I had been following Kristina for a while on Instagram and had participated in one of her 21-day challenges and I knew that eating fresh, raw, unprocessed, fruits and vegetables are good for you but I was too scared and unwilling to make the jump. With her cheery motivation and upbeat spirit, constantly giving me ideas on how to eat "Fully Raw" meals daily, I took the plunge. As of August 2015, I am vegetarian and I consume 1-2 fully raw meals a day. I told my doctor that I will not be doing chemotherapy anymore and I will not be taking my 13 year long daily drug cocktail. I told my doctor that I want to see if I can eat myself to better health and after almost 6 months of this lifestyle, I have never been healthier and my body is starting to heal itself (the proof is shown in monthly blood work and doctor's visits).Kristina's lifestyle is not a fad. Eating real fruits and vegetables is something that we should be doing but oh, how we forget to do something as simple as that. I stopped making excuses and started picking up the right things to eat. As a first generation Cambodian-American, my culture's cuisine is riddled with high-salt and fermented (rotten) food. I don't eat those foods anymore but thats alright. In fact, my family have started to adopt some of my eating habits as most of our family all take some form of high blood pressure medicine. Do what the book says. You don't have to go fully raw all day long but start out with one meal (my personal favorite Kristina is your "Love Smoothie" and "Fully Raw Pad Thai"). Instead of reaching out for a box of unhealthy snacks, grab an apple or make some guacamole with dip-able veggies. There are a million ways to eat Fully Raw. Its our job to take care of this body we were given. As a young woman whose life was taken over by a terrible disease at the age of 13, you will never see me go back to the way I once lived. Thank you Kristina. My self and my kidneys are grateful for having discovered and adopting you and your lifestyle.*Pictures show my weight fluctuation due to kidney failure, hospital stays, dialysis, and what I currently look like in a before and after photo. I've definitely come a long way with this diet. =)*

I bought this with intent of having an awesome recipe book with new fun recipes. It’s a diet book and although it does have 2-3 recipes per 21 day plan; they are mostly juices and smoothies.I’ve been juicing for years. I never follow recipes I just load up the veggies a lil fruit and drink. Also the whole diet is super heavy on fruit. I’m not a fan of juice. I like hearty veggie juice almost always with leafy greens, often beets, carrots, celery and usually a bit of apple or pear. This book is all mango, pineapple passion paradise....it’s like drinking a cup of natural sugar.I’ve done raw on and off for 10 years. I wanted to know how to make coconut wraps, fudge, pizzas. Theres very little in this book of this food. I wanted to use all my gadgets. Nothing requires a dehydrater, sprouting and not 1 recipe with cacao. I love my chocolate! Most recipes are the same or similar to what I’ve made many times, lettuce wraps, smoothies, zoodles, banana ice cream ect.I think the author has done an amazing job sticking with her lifestyle and healing herself. I however disagree with a lot of her beliefs. I don’t think the 80/10/10 is a lifestyle for everyone. I’m a firm believer in dif people need different amounts in their body. Wether it be based on blood type, genes, health issues....I’m not sure. I just know we’re not all the same. This diet doesn’t consist of snacks. Which I know with my high metabolism and busy lifestyle I need at least one. Waiting 4-5 hours betweeen each fruit and veggie meal is crazy. For me at least, but that’s because I know body. The portions are not proportionate. Dinner is 4 burritos or 1 stuffed bell pepper or 3 lbs of zucchini pasta. The stuffed bell pepper seems too little and the others way too much. But they all are considered 1 large serving. This monomealing is strange to me. I eat nearly a bag of satsumas or a a few large organic apples all the time. But if doesn’t satisfy my hunger for 5 hours. Within 3 I usually want a snack and need some protein like nuts or seeds. And it should. Your body burns through fruits quickly because of the carb sugar content they carry.I know I’ll use some recipes in here. And have a different perspective about eating after reading. It’s a great book if you have a sweet tooth. I think people buy this with intent to loose weight and try out the 21 day diet. It could be great for newbies. The recipes are very simple compared to what I’m used to.I will say I love the dressing ideas. I never thought of making my dressings purely out of veggies like celery and zucchini.I was hoping for more recipes ( like in the epic meal section) and would have liked more pictures of final product. I find it pointless-showing pictures of fruit close up or her holding kale in a field, or running , jumping and showing muscles outside. I don’t have or have done instagram. But I assumed that’s what it would be like. ‘ Me carrying a huge watermelon. Yum fresh persimmon. Recipe I made. Look I’m smiling with food. Check me out outside exercising.’It’s prob my fault for not reading into it clearly. I’m not dissspointed. I just know I’ll be buying a new RECIPE book in the short future.
